Consulting Manager – Market Access Analytics – Chicago, IL / Hybrid – $180,000 + Bonus and Benefits

Overview

Role Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced Consulting Manager with strong expertise in pharmaceutical analytics, specifically within the Market Access domain. This is a consulting-led, client-facing role that serves as the strategic bridge between Market Access, Commercial/Marketing stakeholders, and Analytics teams.

The individual will play a critical role in shaping payer strategy, access optimization, and commercial decision-making across U.S. and global markets. While this is not an individual contributor role, a strong background in analytics, data science, or data engineering will be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Market Access, Marketing, and Commercial stakeholders, providing strategic analytics guidance.
  • Partner closely with Market Access, HEOR, Pricing, and Commercial teams to design and deliver analytics solutions.
  • Support payer strategy, formulary access, contracting effectiveness, and patient access optimization initiatives.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical problem statements and engagement plans.
  • Synthesize analytical outputs into clear, compelling storylines and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional analytics and consulting project teams, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery.
  • Build long-term client relationships through strong communication, credibility, and thought leadership.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical consulting, strategy, or analytics, with at least 3+ years in Market Access.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. payer landscapes, including Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Hands-on experience with pricing, reimbursement, contracting, and formulary access analytics.
  • Experience working with Market Access and payer datasets such as MMIT and Market Access Tracker.
  • Familiarity with claims, EMR, and prescription/sales datasets (IQVIA, Symphony, Komodo, Truveta, Flatiron).
  • Excellent client-facing communication and storytelling skills.
  • Comfort operating in matrixed, consulting-style environments.
  • Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation skills.

Nice to Have

  • Background in data science, analytics engineering, or advanced analytics.
  • Exposure to HEOR, value messaging, or evidence generation.
  • Experience supporting global or ex-U.S. market access engagements.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will be expected to operate at the Manager level, leading client engagements rather than functioning as an individual contributor. The role requires a strong consulting mindset, deep pharma market access expertise, and the ability to guide analytics teams while advising senior stakeholders.
