About the Role

The Media Science team uses advanced analytics, machine learning, statistics, experimentation, and optimization algorithms to plan and optimize advertising investment.

The team partners with clients to translate business objectives into measurable outcomes and supports media investment across multiple channels to drive those outcomes.

As Director of Data & Media Science, you will ensure that media campaigns are driven by data and supported by sophisticated analytical approaches.

What You'll Do

  • Understand clients' overall business objectives and translate them into campaign, analytics, and measurement strategies.
  • Oversee the performance and measurement of media campaigns, ensuring that campaigns meet their objectives while generating meaningful insights for clients.
  • Review and audit media plans being developed by planning and channel teams.
  • Structure analytical approaches and develop compelling narratives, presentations, and reporting for client media plans and performance reviews.
  • Serve as a senior client point of contact for campaign measurement, optimization, analytics, and data infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and support the onboarding of measurement vendors, platforms, and analytical technologies.
  • Develop new analytical tools, methodologies, and approaches and encourage their adoption across internal teams and client organizations.
  • Manage, mentor, and provide technical and strategic guidance to data scientists.
  • Serve as a thought leader on data-driven media planning, experimentation, measurement, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop scalable solutions and analytical frameworks for the broader Media Science organization.
  • Explain how modern techniques—including artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization algorithms, experimentation, and automation—can improve business and media KPIs.
  • Develop best-practice frameworks, documentation, and presentations for internal teams and clients.

Who You Are and What You Have

  • Degree from a well-regarded college or university. STEM degrees are preferred, with advanced academic qualifications considered advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in data-driven marketing, marketing analytics, media analytics, or related areas, preferably within an agency, consulting organization, or large in-house media or marketing team.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing projects, teams, or major analytical initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience implementing technical or analytical solutions is highly desirable.

Skill, Abilities and Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of data-driven marketing and media analytics.
  • Strong background in data science, statistics, experimentation, and quantitative analysis.
  • Understanding of the advertising and media ecosystem, particularly media platforms, measurement technologies, and analytics vendors.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of programming and analytical tools such as Python and SQL is highly desirable.
