IT Security Analyst – Manufacturing Company – Middlesex – £50,000- £57,000 + Benefits 

Overview

A vacancy has arisen for an IT Security Analyst with our client, a world-leading manufacturer based in Middlesex. This role holder will be responsible for ensuring the IT services, policies and processes achieve Industry standard Certifications and compliance as well as protecting the business from emerging and known threats to business operations and data.

Areas of Responsibility

  • To assist the IT Security Lead in maintaining an effective Cyber Security Strategy and Security Architecture
  • Develop and maintain effective cybersecurity awareness training programs
  • Understand the operation and administration of the companies security technologies to ensure they are fully utilized and work in an effective manner
  • Make the best use of skills and technology to highlight threats and vulnerabilities whilst ensuring corrective programs and actions take place
  • Actively contribute to the continuous development of security tools, technologies, processes and overall IT capability in the Management of Cyber Risk
  • Maintain an awareness of the threat landscape affecting the organisation, ensuring that the associated risks are communicated and any mitigations are implemented
  • Security operations – respond to threats and incidents in a timely manner. Monitor information and security events for indications of suspicious activity and respond with corrective actions and escalation

Work within and achieve compliance with the following the standard frameworks:

  • UK Government-sponsored programs such as Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001
  • US DFAR requirement for security controls listed under NIST SP.800-171
  • Critical Security Controls from the Council on Cyber Security
  • Monitor and audit our interaction with third parties to ensure compliance with data protection and assurance of threat reduction
  • Conduct security assessments and make remediation recommendations to Senior Management
  • Perform any other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties in this job role

Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in working with advanced IT security technologies such as EDR, SIEM tools etc.
  • Experience in application and operating systems hardening methods.
  • Experience in implementing and using information monitoring solutions.
  • Good theoretical knowledge of Information Security principles.
