Overview
A leading global market maker, operating across more than 70 exchanges worldwide, is seeking a Machine Learning Research Engineer to contribute to a pioneering AI initiative. This role offered the opportunity to have a significant impact on machine learning research, infrastructure, and large-scale deployment, advancing cutting-edge price forecasting models and futures trading strategies. The successful candidate would join a world-class team of researchers and engineers, working at the forefront of high-performance trading and AI innovation.
What does the role involve?
- Conducting innovative research in deep learning with a focus on price forecasting and market prediction.
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable training and inference pipelines for deep learning systems.
- Diving deep into the internals of leading open-source frameworks (such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow) and extending their functionality to meet performance demands.
- Collaborating closely with researchers, trading strategists, and engineers to translate ideas into robust, production-ready solutions.
- Developing a comprehensive understanding of trading systems and continuously optimizing model deployment in fast-paced market environments
What the ideal candidate brings:
- A PhD or equivalent industry experience in a field related to machine learning.
- Deep expertise in building and training deep learning models using PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience working with computationally intensive research on large-scale datasets.
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to solve complex problems in partnership with researchers and engineers.
Preferred additional experience included:
- Experience with the JAX ecosystem (XLA, Flax).
- GPU or accelerator programming (CUDA, Triton, Pallas).
- Contributions to open-source projects in data science or machine learning.
- A strong publication record at conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, or similar.
- Expertise in the internals of deep learning frameworks.
- Experience with large-scale distributed model training.
- Proficiency in C++ for performance-critical applications.
